The Au SAE J1939 simulators (Gen II, includes V1.00A releases and V2.00A releases) can generate SAE J1939 signal for up to three controller applications (CA): Engine, ABS and Transmission. Au J1939 simulators are designed so easy to use, even product line operator and sales personal can use them without Controller Area Network training. Au J1939 simulator can run all by itself and doesn't require complicate software settings or user's knowledge and experience on Controller Area Network. It is widely used as valuable tools for any situation from product-line test, incoming inspection, business demonstration to product development and product validation.

Introduction of Au J1939 Simulator

Au SAE J1939 simulators with most updated firmware (FW 0.1D, 0.1E, 0.1F, 0.2D, 0.2E, 0.2F) supoort multiple CAN Baud Rate, Device CAN Baud Rate can be set at 250K, 500K, 62.5K, 125K, or 1M bps.

Major updates from 1.00A to 2.00A

Au J1939 simulator firmware version check feature is added on Remote Terminal and a "warning message" will be issued when firmware doesn't match the minimum requirement for Remote Terminal. Only release 2.00A and Above firmware (current firmware ID: 0.2A) can be used with the 2.00A Remote Terminal release.

Major updates from Gen I to Gen II

• Most recent edition is Gen II Ver 2.00A (Firmware Ver 0.2A). The Gen II Ver 1.00A is still available as an economic solution.
• All Gen II Ver 1.00A editions have the same software codes as Gen I editions. Both Gen I and Gen II use the same minor and major firmware updates. Both can be upgrade to Ver 2.00A with major Firmware upgrade Order #: FIRJ1939-001.
• All Gen II editions have the same microcontroller hardware design as Gen I.
• All Gen II editions now include an enclosure.

Value Package and Engine Basic Edition

Engine Basic Edition can statically or dynamically simulate most of the engine SAE J1939 data. Two push buttons (UP and DOWN buttons) are used in the static mode to control the data outputs. The dynamic mode will automatically cycling the data in its range. LEDs will indicate the control status. And Buzzer sound reflects push button inputs. The buzzer sound can also be disabled.

After a network is physically connected, simply powering up the simulator will get it transmitting Engine operating data on SAE J1939 network. No software setup and No CAN protocol configuration skill are required.

Static mode will generate steady SAE J1939 data, Dynamic mode will generate constant-changing SAE J1939 data automatically.

Multiple CAN baud rate (1M/500K/250K/125K/62.5K bps) can be configured in field to cover the new SAE 500K CAN baud rate release. May-12-2017

VIN parameter is now supported to cover the US DOT/FMVSS ELD (Electronics Logging Device)mandate (starting from Dec-17-2017). May-12-2017

The Engine Premium Edition(s) support more PGNs and communication protocols than Engine Basic Edition, e.g. Engine DM1 and DM2 message etc. All SAE defined Transport Protocols are implemented for Engine DM1 and DM2. These features make the Engine Premium Edition a good development/test tool for any application which requires engine DM1, DM2 single-packet/multi-packet warning information or any Transport Protocol related Functions defined by SAE J1939-21.

Vehicle Platinum Edition

Vehicle Platinum Edition includes all Engine Premium Edition functions, plus the following features and SAE-J1939 Parameters.

V1.00A and V2.00A Supported J1939 Parameters --- Vehicle Platinum Edition(s):

The Vehicle Platinum Edition(s) simulate three ECU instances (Engine, ABS and Transmission) in a vehicle network. It has all the functions of Engine Premium Edition, and many ABS and Transmission information. The Engine Configuration PGN is also supported for any vehicle device/equipment which needs the function of engine torque control. The Vehicle Platinum Edition(s) are highly recommended for vehicle integration development and test (e.g. truck, Recreation Vehicles, school bus, Agriculture vessels, etc.).

Au SAE J1939 Simulator PLUS editions

PLUS Edition = Non-Plus Edition + PC Remote Terminal Program

• The Value Package Plus Edition includes all Value Package non-plus functions, plus capabilities of showing simulated J1939 information on a PC screen and remote control capabilities from a PC.
• The Engine Basic Plus Edition includes all Engine Basic non-plus edition functions, plus capabilities of showing simulated J1939 information on a PC screen and remote control capabilities from a PC.
• The Engine Premium Plus Edition includes all Engine Premium non-plus edition functions, plus capabilities of showing simulated J1939 information on a PC screen and remote control capabilities from a PC.

Script Edition = Plus Edition + Script Control

• The Engine Basic Script edition includes all Engine Basic Plus Edition functions, plus script control capabilities

Generate Script Command

• When script control is enabled, 6 parameters will be controlled by script control, the maximum allowed values will be showing in its input area respectively.
• Click “ Clear All ” button will clear all values in the input area, it has no effect on the simulator
• Change the inputs to a desire value.
• Click “ Verify & Send ” button, script command will be send to J1939 Simulator, those value change will be reflected on the display panel.
• Script command can be copied as part of a script file, which can be saved and run at later time.

Run script from a file

Click “ Load File ” to load a script file

Select a desire script file, click “ Open ”

Loaded script file name will display, script commands in the script file will display in the script view-port.

Click “ Run File ” button to run script file.

Current running script command will be highlighted in the script view-port. Script running status will display (for example, current command is delay, delay counting down timer is showing)

When script finish running, last command of the script file will be highlighted. “ Script Finished Successfully ” message will be showing as the running status
