SAE J1708 /J1587 Data Center System (DCS) is a family of products which can translate J1708/J1587 and J1708/J1922 sentences into human readable ASCII string. The ASCII string are output on the RS232 port. The ASCII string can be organized in individual PID format, and / or full-sentence format. Four different editions are available. Time Stamp feature, Listen only feature and Freedom Transmit feature are available on all editions. "Receive/Transmit In-completed sentence" feature, "Idle Bubble feature", "up to 4x Filter " Feature and "Message Length Exceptions" feature are available on premium editions.

Au J1708 DCS output with Individual PID (DCSJ1708-001):
DCSJ1708-001 will receive completed sentence from J1708/J1587, J1708/J1922 network, translate them to ASCII string and output ASCII string in an Individual PID format on RS232 side:
Output Format:
:>MID PID n a*checksum\r\n
Note:
< CR > < LF >
doesn't display on many web browser, we use "\r\n" represent the "carriage return and line feed".
:>
indicates the start of a Individual PID sentence
MID Message Identification
PID Parameter Identification
n data length, Number of parameter data characters
a data
*checksum checksum, the checksum calculation starts from : ends on * with both characters included, all space characters " " in-between are also included.
\r\n
carriage return and line feed, indicates the end of an individual PID sentence.
Output Example:
